Authentication

Authentication is the process of verifying the identity of a user or system, much like unlocking a door with a key or entering a password to log into an account.

How it works

It works by checking whether the credentials a user provides—such as a password, biometric data, or a security token—match the information stored in the system. This process is essential for protecting digital accounts, data, and systems from unauthorized access.

Examples

  • 1.Logging into an email account with a username and password
  • 2.Unlocking a phone with fingerprint recognition
  • 3.Signing into a banking app with a one-time verification code
