An AI agent is an AI program that can perceive its environment, set goals on its own, and execute tasks to achieve them. Think of it as a digital assistant that not only answers questions but also proactively carries out a series of actions for you.
How it works
It is typically built on AI models such as large language models (LLMs), completing tasks by taking instructions, analyzing information, making plans, and invoking tools (such as searching the web or operating software). Its importance lies in upgrading AI from a mere “conversationalist” into an “executor” that can proactively handle complex workflows, greatly expanding the scope of automation.
